The gallery is well advanced on its engagement project with local high schools, commissioning designs for a banner to celebrate and promote the work of young artists in the valley.
The project encompasses broad themes of “the people” – “the past”, “the present” and “the emerging”, and a large portable banner is now being drawn up.
The selected works will be added to the banner by the young student artists at full-day workshops under the guidance of prominent Dunghutti artists Leo Leko Wright and Rachel Cross.
The program was developed and initiated by gallery worker Christine Vonk and her tireless efforts have seen the local schools involved in the process.
