The gallery has new stocks of woven baskets and jewellery by talented local artist Gai Southwell.

Gai created Manhuti WalkAbout Jewellery and Weaving as a business in 2021. She has, however, been a designer and creator for many years.

Gai lives on Dunghutti lands on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales and is based in Kempsey. She loves to travel and to collect interesting bits and pieces to add to her creations. Every piece she creates is unique and individual, with a story to tell. Manhuti is an Aboriginal word from the Dunghutti language meaning to “travel along” or, as the Aboriginal people referred to it – to “walk About”.

“I chose this name as I love to travel around Australia and as I do I collect little bits and pieces that I love to turn into deadly jewellery for you to take on your walkabout”.
